Poem: What if?
What if poems weren’t just for picking up girls?
What if poems changed the world?
What if? What if this, what if that,
What if we constantly asked ourselves, what if and why?
What if we questioned everything?
What if we never cried? Because
We were too afraid that if we did cry,
We’d just be wasting our time.
What if a little boy, on his own, could become a man?
What if we wouldn’t stand for injustice?
What if someone’s character
Was the only obstacle between hope and success? Not
Who your parents are and where you were born?
What if contemplation replaced frustration?
What if motivation paved the way for articulation?
What if we knew how and when we were going to die?
Would we try and stop the inevitable?
Would we be satisfied with our lives?

Papillon....Imagine "if" you could write something of substance and express what it is you do care about?
Poetry is the same as music...only the lyrics aren't put to a melody. The words are meant to invoke a feeling, raise your concience, or move you in some way.
